Back to warm the midwinter chill, our annual sound maker’s festival celebrates the birthdays of two pioneers of free music. Vocalist, dancer and performer Maggie Nicols sees out her 75th year with the Noisy Women ensemble. Saxophonist Evan Parker celebrates his 80th birthday in 2024, co-leading his Trance Map+ project with Matt Wright and guest performers Hannah Marshall and Toma Gouband. The Free Range Orchestra complete the programme, with a performance co-led by Parker and Nicols. In addition, students from Canterbury Christ Church University present an exhibition of new sound and music in our Daphne Oram Gallery.
