Aphra who? Aphra Behn, who should be Canterbury's most famous daughter. Born here in 1640, at her death in 1689 she was a celebrated playwright, poet and novelist. The Victorians disapproved: she was too sexy, too outspoken, and despite her remarkable achievements and talent she slipped out of public imagination.

In partnership with a host of Canterbury organisations, CCCU and Loughborough University launch a year of events to restore her legacy. Come and hear about her, with music, objects, pictures, and a talk by Behn expert Prof. Elaine Hobby (Loughborough University), in the Daphne Oram Gallery.
