Kent-based professional theatre company Play on Words Theatre is happy to present this atmospheric, outdoor, interactive, one-hour performance of Shakespeare’s classic ‘Macbeth’, in association with the Anselm Theatre Company and students from CCCU's Performing Arts suite of courses.

Three witches prophesize the fortunes of the Scottish general Macbeth. The result is a journey of greed, murder and betrayal with supernatural undertones that reflects the human desire for the pursuit of power.

Directed by Miriam and Aidan Dooley (actors, directors and lecturers in Performing Arts, Musical Theatre and Drama) designed by James Edward Frost, (lecturer and director of Theatre of the Small) assistant directed by student Charlotte Atkinson and stage managed by student Emily Bardwell, this bespoke 'Play by the Pond' is an electric, enthralling experience, ensconced in its site-specific location.

Limited parking will be available at St Gregory's Centre for Music, on North Holmes Road, from 5pm on Friday, and all day Saturday.

On campus, follow the signs to Anselm and Laud buildings to find The Quad. There is some seating available on picnic tables and benches but please feel free to bring a blanket to sit on.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, the performances will take place in Anselm Studio 1, which is easily accessible from the Quad.

This production is supported by the School of Creative Arts and Industries.
