Since writing 'I'm a Joke and So Are You', Robin has become increasingly engaged with trying to understand the disparity between how we project ourselves to the outside world and who we are on the inside. Weapons of Empathy will be about neuroscience, psychology and how books can lead us into the minds of others and help us understand their world. It will also contain jokes, impressions and poetry.

Robin Ince is best known as the host of Radio 4's Infinite Monkey Cage with Brian Cox - the show has won multiple awards including the Rose of Montreux and, most recently, The Arthur C Clarke award. In 2022, he also made Reality Tunnel for Radio 4 which has just been nominated for a BBC Audio award. He is the author of I'm a Joke and So Are You, The Importance of Being Interested and Bibliomaniac, a book that was described by the Times Literary Supplement as "joyous, irreverent and more than a trifle eccentric – liberating and life-affirming." He was awarded Author of the Year by The Bookseller's Association in 2022. He has just finished a world tour with Brian Cox.

Copies of Robin's books, including 'I'm a Joke and So Are You' can be pre-ordered from the CCCU Bookshop. There will be the opportunity for Robin to sign books after the event.
