Legendary filmmaker Ray Harryhausen left an incredible archive of some 50,000 items from his iconic cinema career for future generations to learn from and enjoy. For his centenary year, the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation have conserved, repaired and restored some of his most iconic creations to be exhibited worldwide. Physical restoration, archival research and 3D scans have all been undertaken in efforts to illuminate Ray Harryhausen’s legacy for contemporary animators, filmmakers and fans. Collections manager Connor Heaney will share behind-the-scenes imagery of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to preserve Ray’s collection, and their plans to share his incredible legacy worldwide over the coming decade.

Connor Heaney is the Collections Manager for the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation (Charity No. SC001419). He deals with the day-to-day care of Ray Harryhausen’s archive and is responsible for promoting the awareness of Ray’s work and legacy through worldwide exhibitions and events, alongside administering and managing the Foundation’s online activities, physical archive and database. 

The Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation is a charitable Trust set up by Ray on the 10th April 1986. It is the primary aim of the Foundation to protect Ray’s name and body of work as well as archiving, preserving & restoring Ray’s extensive collection.

The ticketing for Canterbury Anifest this year is Pay What You Can; please select the ticket price that you feel comfortable paying for each event. Alternatively, you can buy the Festival Pass which will allow you access to all the talks for a total of £10.

This is an online event. Advance booking is required to receive full access details in advance of the events. One ticket is required per device, not per person viewing, so two people watching on one screen only require one ticket. The majority of talks and screenings will be shared via Microsoft Teams, and will remain accessible to you online for 7 days from the end of the individual event.
