Parliamentary Candidates from the Conservative Party, the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats and an independent candidate, will make their case as to why they should be elected to represent Canterbury and Whitstable as Member of Parliament.

Each candidate will be given a period of time to outline their party’s main policies after which a question and answer session with the audience will follow. Questions to the candidates can be submitted both prior to the event, via twitter #CCCUHustings19, whilst some will also be taken from the audience during the event itself.

The 2019 Hustings event is organised by both ‘Making Politics Matter’, and the Centre for European Studies (CEFEUS), both part of the Politics and International Relations programme at CCCU, in partnership with the Canterbury and District Inter-Faith Action (CANDIFA) and the Canterbury Society.

A pre-event reception from 5.30-6.30pm will take place in the lobby of Augustine House, following by the Hustings event, 6.30-8.00pm in Augustine Hall.

This event is free and open to all.
