In this lecture INCISE Visiting Senior Research Fellow Dr Leonardo Raznovich will talk about the history and the impact of British sodomy laws on the Caribbean.

Dr Raznovich will be discussing how and why the British established the sodomy laws and how these are still in force in the former colonies and how British overseas territories have moved from decriminalisation to segregation and how the British government could be helping LGBTIQ+ people in the overseas territories today.

This is a very timely talk now that Bermuda has reduced marriage equality to civil partnerships, leading the rest of the Caribbean to go back on rights for LGBTIQ+ in the area.
